The angels and the rest of the exalted assembly responded to the command. (So they prostrated, except for Iblis; he refused and was arrogant.) This is the first mention of arrogance in the Book, and its first occurrence in the history we know. The concepts of arrogance and the category of the arrogant are central to the Islamic worldview and should regain their rightful place in describing the realities and historical figures. The form "استفعل" indicates that the arrogant one is not really great in stature but imagines himself to be and tries to make others believe so. In reality, he is small, even humiliated, due to his disobedience and denial. In another place, Allah the Exalted says abou

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever has even a mustard seed’s weight of arrogance in his heart will not enter Paradise.”

Why is arrogance so dangerous? Because true greatness and الكبرياء belong only to Allah. We, as human beings, have no right to be arrogant about anything. Suppose you are more educated than others, more beautiful, wealthier, or hold a higher status—just pause and reflect: are you truly the owner of any of these?

When someone praises knowledge, a God-conscious heart says, “Alhamdulillah, this is not mine—this is Allah’s mercy upon me.” When wealth is praised, a mindful servant says, “I am not the owner; I am only a trustee.” If one has power, they see it as a

The difference between healthy

and deceptive

is the *source* of our confidence. Healthy confidence is rooted in Allah. Arrogance is rooted in self. When Musa (AS) stood trapped in front of the Red Sea, his unshaken confidence was rooted in Allah: 'My Lord is with me; He will guide me through.' (Quran 26:62) And he was saved. When Qaroon was reminded of his blessings, his confidence was rooted in himself: 'I obtained all of this from a knowledge in *me*.' (Quran 28:78) And he was destroyed.

Have you ever felt like being overcome by the feeling of Self Obsession/Pride? In the past few days , Allah showed me a quick trailer how Shaytaan makes our bad deeds look fair to us and why it happens. When a servant becomes negligent towards the remembrance of Allah. The whispers of Shaytaan can be of two types.(in my opinion) Sometimes it's like itsy bitsy Flickr And by reciting tawuuuz,we feel okay and it really doesn't bothers at all. The other time it becomes serious and it becomes serious when we 'observe' the flaws of people around us. When their deeds matter to us more than our own. It is so destructive that leaves a person unable to check his own self. Once I

Al-Hârithah b. Wahb al-Khuzâ‘i narrates: I heard the Prophet (saws) say: 'May I inform you of the people of Paradise? It is every weak person who is neglected - but if he were to swear by Allah, He would fulfill it. May I inform you of the people of the Hellfire? It is every harsh, greedy arrogant person.' In another narration: 'It is every greedy, haughty, arrogant person.' [Agreed upon: Narrated by al-Bukhari (4918), and Muslim (2853:47)]

Ibn Mas‘ood narrates: The first surah to be revealed with a point of protration was an-Najm. The Messenger of Allah (saws) prostrated, as did those behind him, except for a man that I saw take a handful of dust and put it on his forehead. I thereafter saw him being killed as a disbeliever; it was Umayyah b. Khalaf. [Authentic: Narrated by al-Bukhari (4863), and Muslim (576:105)]

Abu Hurayrah narrates that the Prophet (saws) said: 'Paradise and the Hellfire brought a dispute to their Lord. Paradise said: ‘O Lord, why is it that only the weak and insignificant people will enter it,’ and the Hellfire said: ‘I have been favored with the proud!’ Allah, the Exalted, said to Paradise: ‘You are my mercy,’ and to the Hellfire: ‘You are my punishment with which I punish whomever I wish. Each of you will have your fill.’ 'As for the Paradise, Allah will certainly not do injustice to anyone of His creation. He will destine to Hell whomever He wishes. They will be cast therein, and it will say: ‘Is there any more?’ until He places His foot inside of it. It will then be fille

Abu Hurayrah narrates that the Messenger of Allah (saws) said: 'Paradise and Hellfire argued with each other; the Hellfire said: ‘I was preferred with the arrogant and the proud,’ and Paradise said: ‘What is wrong with me that none enters me except the weakest of people, the insignificant of them, and the simple-minded of them?’ Allah said to Paradise: ‘You are My mercy; I show mercy to whomever I wish from My servants through you.’ He said to the Hellfire: ‘You are My punishment; I punish whomever I wish from My servants through you. And each of you will have your fill.’ 'As for the Hellfire, it will not be full until Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, puts His foot into it. It will say: ‘E

Abu Hurayrah narrates that the Prophet (saws) said: 'Allah revealed His scripture, mentioning therein a people who became arrogant: For whenever it was said to them ˹in the world˺, 'There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Allah,' they acted arrogantly [37:35] 'Allah also says: ˹Remember˺ when the disbelievers had filled their hearts with pride—the pride of ˹pre-Islamic˺ ignorance—then Allah sent down His serenity upon His Messenger and the believers, inspiring them to uphold the declaration of faith, for they were better entitled and more worthy of it.
