Sallam alaekum warahmotullah wabarakatu. I actually want to reflect on this chapter of this holy Qur'an based on the reflection that bro J Yousef made some hours ago. I would also love to answer some of the questions he asked towards the end of his reflection.

Based on some of the questions he raised. It also has to do with some of the daily activities some people actually get themselves involved in. Hummmmmm! Sometimes we are being told about someone's character. We've actually not met the person but because of what you heard about that person, you already misjudged the person and already have a negative mindset that there is nothing good actually coming out from this person because of the prior wrong information we heard about them. Let's try to change our mindset about people.

I would love to answer some of bro J Yousef questions.

1. Do you readily believe rumours against someone you don't like?

For this question I must say that it's not only about the people they don't like. It's also about what they have heard about that person. For me, I fear mistreating people and I don't like to hurt anyone with words cos I wouldn't like it either. It's very important to be careful about what we want to believe about someone's character. Sometimes it has to do with religion, sex or personality. Having a fixed mindset about someone because of something negative we've heard about them might even make one misbehave and even bring out what we don't expect in that person. Why don't we deal with them personally?

2. Do you accept assertions about people you hate?

This is actually very deep I must say and we really need to be very careful on how to react when we meet someone. Treat people with love and you would be amazed at how you would be treated back. Don't misjudge them on what you hear about them. Deal with them one on one.

3. Does a person's bad deeds makes you more ready to accept gossip about them without being presented with evidence?

In the first place, to gossip is a sin. Secondly, to accept gossip about the bad deeds of a fellow human being without being presented with an evidence is another sin. Maybe to me, I don't believe what someone tells me about another person especially if it's something bad. I would like to give an example about my work. When handing and taking over patients, some of my colleagues could say a particular patient is bad. I personally don't like to react to what I've heard. By the time I get to the patient, I might probably see a different thing entirely. Some of my colleagues has put themselves in trouble because of what others told them about a patient. Like I would always say, deal with that person personally.

Reacting to what someone has told us is actually wrong. What if we were actually told the wrong things. We need to be careful with our deeds. Even if the person's assumptions of a person's bad deeds are actually right. Do you know we can do the right thing by correcting that person with love? It makes the person happy and feels its actually good to do the right thing.

Sincerely, you can't blame some people because of the way they act. It's might be their environment, friends, family, peer pressure, not showing them love and some other things might have had a negative effect on them.

We can be the agents of change for someone today. Why don't we stop misjudging people and let's change our mindset on the negative things we hear about other.

May Almighty Allah make us to be just in all our dealing with all the beautiful things He has created. Ameen!
