'Verily in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.' Rest is something that we are all searching for. It's the stability we are so eagerly seeking in our lives whether that's within in our relationships, our workplaces, our homes, and most importantly in ourselves. The rest within our hearts. The stability within our chests. But how? How do we maintain stability in our lives? In ourselves? In the depths of our souls? As you begin to reflect, you start to see, in fact, there is stability in what Allah has created. Look at the sky above you. Look at the sun. The moon, The trees. The Earth itself. They are all so stable. The sky has never cracked open. It never waivered and nor does the sun or the moon. They are orbiting with precise calculation. But how? How do they maintain this stability? This rest? Their absolute submission to Allah is what makes them so stable. Them hearing and obeying is what keeps them so firm. My point here is that if we want stability / rest in our lives we must seek to hear and obey Allah. The more we do it the more stability we will see. The more 'rest' is what we will continuously witness within ourselves and around us.
