Have you ever read an ayah and felt it was revealed just for you?
This is the 1st Ramadan that I had a detailed plan/schedule outlined beforehand. This is the 1st Ramadan I felt blessed to feel a bit prepared. I thought in my naivety I had a plan and therefore had it all sorted.
But Qaddar Allah, I find myself on the 1st day of Ramadan categorised under the 'ill' unable to fast and may not be able to for the entire month. The plan (at least parts of it) has had to go out of the window. My body hurts, my mind hurts and my heart hurts the most. I cried like I haven’t cried in months. But solace and comfort I find in His words alone, which feel like they were revealed just for me:
وَمَن كَانَ مَرِيضًا أَوْ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٍۢ فَعِدَّةٌۭ مِّنْ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَ ۗ يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ بِكُمُ ٱلْيُسْرَ وَلَا يُرِيدُ بِكُمُ ٱلْعُسْرَ
'and anyone who is ill or on a journey should make up for the lost days by fasting on other days later. God wants ease for you, not hardship'
My question now is: What do you think Allah wants from me in this month? How do I please Him when I feel so weak and out of it? How do I still make this my best Ramadan ever? Please share your advice and tips my fellow beloved brothers and sisters 🙂 May Allah shower you all with His love and mercy. Ameen.

Assalamu alaikum Thank you for a beautiful reflection, May Allah reward you infinitely Last year Ramadan was one of the hardest for me, I was in a similar situation as you I was super sad initially but I would always pray to Allah to help me and by His mercy I developed a relationship with the Quran like never before, and this remained even after Ramadan, that to me is a huge blessing. It made me realize even when He withholds, He has a bigger gift for you always
Ask Him to help you, Hold on to the Quran like never before, wake up for tahajjud and make lots of duas while sitting, give lots of sadaqah, help anyone in need if you can, do lots of dhikr for the most part of the day. Do all that is pleasing to your Lord, remember He is a Lord that rewards you for just having a good intention, what if He sees you trying??
I am sorry, I know exactly how you feel, but He will get you through by His mercy and love.
Consistently recite this dua ; it was one dua our prophet (PBUH) consistently made.
Ya Muqallib al-Quloob, Thabbit Qalbi Ala Deenik 'Oh Turner of Hearts, keep my heart firm on Your Deen.'
