Struggling to Stay Consistent in Your Journey to Allah?

Are you trying hard to strengthen your faith and secure success on the Day of Judgment? Trying different methods but falling again and again? Does nothing seem to work?

The Qur’an teaches us that true success lies in Tazkiya—self-purification. Without it, our hearts remain burdened, and our intentions become corrupted.

As Ustadha Farhat Hashmi explains, Tazkiya has three key aspects:

1. Purification in matters of Allah – Cleansing ourselves from all forms of major and minor shirk.

2. Purification in matters of the Prophet (SAW) – Removing all innovations from our practice of Islam.

3. Purification in matters of people – Freeing our hearts from envy, jealousy, hatred, and other destructive emotions.

A sick heart cannot truly sustain good deeds. Are you focusing only on increasing your deeds, only to lose motivation after a few days? Or are you working on the root causes of your struggles on this path?

If not, this Ramadan is our golden opportunity to start fresh, purify our hearts, and build a strong foundation for lasting faith.

Here’s a powerful dua from the Hadith to ask Allah for purification:

اَللّٰهُمَّ اٰتِ نَفْسِیْ تَقْوَاهَا وَزَكِّهَا اَنْتَ خَيْرُمَنْ زَكَّاهَا اَنْتَ وَلِيُّهَا وَمَوْلَاهَا

O Allah, grant my nafs its piety and purify it, for You are the best to purify it. You are its Guardian and its Protective friend.
