In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful, We have all heard the phrase 'you either look at the glass half empty or that the glass is half full.' Those looking at the glass half empty focus on what’s missing and those looking at the glass as half full are focusing on what they have. One view is pessimistic and the other is optimistic. Life, too is about perspective and our perspective will often yield  results according to how we view things. Some people can constantly blame others regarding their situation and take no accountability of their own role to their situation. What sort of result will this yield? It won’t change the present  condition, perhaps it might  make the situation  worse, especially if we constantly play the victim.  Yet, if a person focuses upon their own shortcomings they will do something to change and that change will allow them to see much better and clearly. The environment will eventually change, When the focus is about changing ourselves and casting less blame upon others then beautiful changes occur because we have a different lens to see life with.  We grow stronger, we realise we can’t control everything but we can control our response to things. Having, a good degree of control upon our anger, our resentment or any negative emotion is a strength like no other. An inner strength Allah is pleased with, that the more you develop this strength Allah is with you.  We can’t have any control upon others, nor their guidance, nor their actions,  but we can choose to better ourselves and we can attain a power over our responses.  Abu Hasbah reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, 'Who is the true wrestler?' They said, 'One who throws his opponent down.' The Prophet said, 'The wrestler of all wrestlers is a man who is intensely angry, whose face turns red, and whose hair bristles, then he wrestles against his anger.'  Aḥmad 23115 Al-Bayhaqi reported: Ja’far ibn Muhammad, may Allah have mercy on him, said, 'If you hear something from your brother that you reject, make an excuse for him up to seventy excuses. If you cannot do it, then say: Perhaps he has an excuse I do not know.' Shu’ab al-Imān 7853

Jazakillahu khayran. To add, one either sees only cause and effect, or sees the Lord behind the cause and effect. Truly successful is the one who is awakened to this reality, for such a person neither grieves nor fears
