‘Al Huroof Al Muqatta’ah’ - or in English - ‘The singular or disjoined letters’.

When I read these letters, it makes me wonder about so many things. It was not narrated that the prophet ﷺ interpreted them, so we are taught to say that only Allah ﷻ knows what they truly mean.

But I can’t help but wonder what there is hidden in those precious letters, because for sure they have a meaning. It’s incredibly Majestic when you think about the fact that Allah ﷻ is The Only One who possesses all the knowledge of everything. For He alone is The All Knowing.

Our human mind is limited and can only grasp what Allah ﷻ allows it to understand. That’s why it’s also important to ask Allah ﷻ for knowledge and with that, understanding.

~ Allahumma Rabbi Zidna 3ilman Nafi3an Ameen ~ Regarding the revelation, it’s Allah ﷻ Who decides which knowledge He ﷻ reveals and which knowledge He ﷻ keeps hidden.

And even in that hiddenness there is knowledge, and in that concealment there is benefit, and in that secrecy there is wonder and Mercy.

There is a lovely lesson in hidden things ~ because whatever is hidden is beautiful.

The concept of the seen and the unseen also comes to my mind when I think of these letters. Just like how Allah ﷻ revealed this visible tangible Dunyah to us and mentioned the unseen world but kept it hidden; in the same way He ﷻ reveals to us whatever He ﷻ wants. Even if they were letters and even if it’s a whole other world.

He ﷻ revealed the letters, but He ﷻ didn’t reveal the meaning.

But what truly is important here is the fact that He ﷻ did reveal them to us. And whatever our Lord reveals to us, will bring us enormous benefit إِنْ شَاءَ ٱللَّٰهُ‎ ~ آمن .

Benefit in the seen and the unseen, in the known and the unknown ~ ‎آمن.

And Allah ﷻ is The All Knowing and The All Aware.
