✨Tongue - A Barrier to Paradise or A Key to Hellfire?✨
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, ' Verily, the servant may speak a single word for which he plummets into the Hellfire farther than the distance between East and West. ' [Sahih Al-Bukhari]
In life, do we wish that we and our loved ones are saved from the Hellfire? Do we realise how big the role is of the tongue in blocking our way to Jannah?
We should start from our homes, from cradle to grave the effort should be there. We shouldn't give key to our close relatives who have loose tongues by justifying their behaviour through certain phrases such as 'He/She is just a kid'' or 'He/She doesn't know how to speak'. The oppressor feeds these phrases to their minds and whenever they harm others with their tongues, they use it as a tool to justify their actions. It becomes a psychological issue which needs to be addressed and corrected.
The outcome of their unaddressed behaviour would be lack of control over their tongues, anger crossing limits and many other behavioural issues that a person may unknowingly develop. They might take things for granted with the very people who are important to them without a vision of how much harm they might cause to the hearts of others and their productive side. Ultimately it can break harmony at gatherings, homes etc. What if all their good deeds will be freezed because of their tongues?
People forget that there's a Day of Judgement they have to come across. They might tell a hundred harmful words and when someone responds, they play victim role and act childish. No words uttered are small in the sight of Allah. Our words can either lead us to the highest rank of Jannah or the depths of the Hellfire. Because no matter what, no matter how much people are unjust, Allah is Al Hakam, the Judge and Al Adl, the Utterly Just. 💖
The Prophet ﷺ said, ' A Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hands the Muslims are safe. ' [Sahih Al-Bukhari]
Umar ibn al-Khattab رضي الله عنه came upon Abu Bakr as-Siddiq رضي الله عنه pulling his tongue. Umar said to him, 'Stop, may Allah forgive you!' Abu Bakr replied, 'This has brought me to dangerous places.' [Muwatta Imam Malik]
Good hearts will always make sure that they don't hurt others with their tongues! ❤️❤️❤️
Whenever we speak, may our words be stepping stones to Jannah, Aameen Yaa Kareemun Wahhab 💖
