Bismillah. Here's something very important to contemplate about. When we do things, who are we really doing them for? Like actually think about it. Who are we REALLY doing it for? Is it for people or for our Creator? This might seem like a simple question, but it's really important. Doing things just to get praise from people can lead us down the wrong path. This is a kind of shirk. There are two types of shirk. One of them is worshipping someone else with Allah (SWT). But it can also be looking for attention from others. Think about this: someone might take a long time in their Salah, not because they're looking to please Allah, but so that others will praise them. But actually contemplate about it for a minute; We rush through our prayers when we're alone, reading a short Surah, and moving quickly. But, when others are watching, we suddenly take our time to pray. It's a bit mixed up, isn't it? We're not worried about rushing our prayer to Allah, but we're worried if people see us praying quickly. So who are we really worshipping?
