In 31:16 Allah gives an example of a deed that were of the weight of a mustard seed. If we reflect on that with relation to 31:19 and read the following hadith: It is narrated on the authority of 'Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) observed: He who has in his heart the weight of a mustard seed of pride shall not enter Paradise. (Sahih Muslim 91c) Perhaps turning your nose up to people, walking pridefully, walking too fast or too slow and a loud voice have something to do with arrogance? Personally, I feel that walking humbly and at a balanced pace as a part of our body-language reflects modesty and purpose, walking too slowly can make it seem like someone has lack of purpose or is walking for leisure or maybe is lazy with his affairs, while walking too fast can draw unnecessary attention, and make a person seem unapproachable. On the other hand, someone who walks at a moderate pace comes across as calm, approachable, and in control, and it also helps conserve energy for other important activities. Similarly, talking loudly can make a person seem intimidating or even rude, which might push others away. A softer, calm voice feels much more inviting and shows respect for the people around you.
