I find these ayahs very interesting as it shows the importance of certainty in the life of a human being. Uncertainty makes us feel lost, a lot of anxiety takes place (just look at our current situation on the pandemic.) It’s chaos. Humans need a schedule. We like to have a routine. Even the creation of Allah shows certainty to an extent (i.e the sun coming up every day.) So getting back to the ayahs. Allah says to seek help through patience and prayer. Allah acknowledges it is a difficult task except for those that are humble and are certain of their meeting. So who actually benefits from salah during a hardship? Who actually seeks help through it? Who gives its’ due right? The one who is certain. Certain of meeting their Lord. Certain of accountability. When we have this certainty in our hearts it’ll allow us to overlook the hardships/ struggles in life. It’ll allow us to move beyond it. It pushes us to look at the bigger picture. It reinforces our priorities in life. And that’s the beauty of faith. It helps us navigate situations that we thought we would never able to overcome. It provides us with a road map of where we are and where we are headed. It’s honestly a lifelong process. We need to be patient with ourselves and Allah. May Allah gift us this certainty Ameen.
