God is Near Surah 40, Verse 60: وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِي سَيَدْخُلُونَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِينَ But your Sustainer says: 'Call unto Me, [and] I shall respond to you! Verily, they who are too proud to worship Me will enter hell, abased!' This brief verse encapsulates God's loving response to prayer. First God refers to Himself as Lord or 'Sustainer' meaning the one who is taking care of you. He tells us to ask Him. Then with no pause or hesitation He assures us He will respond. The Arabic does not contain the word 'and' between 'call unto me' and 'I shall respond'. It literally jumps right to 'I shall respond'. This signifies the immediacy of God's response and the magnitude of God's generosity. Moreover the word used for 'respond' is 'astajeeb' which linguistically means responding through action not just by hearing the prayers. The pronoun used to describe God is the singular 'I' instead of the plural 'We' sometimes used to signify majesty. Here the emphasis is on God's immediacy and intimacy with you. He is near. He responds. He is your Sustainer, the One who is already giving you everything, so ask Him. The rest of the verse warns against the alternative: those who do not raise their hands in prayer. It describes them as 'too proud' or having 'kibr' or arrogance. Asking God for help is an act of sweet surrender.

Do not think how big your problems are but think how big, magnificent, great your Lord is so open your hand to Him and ask whatever you want.
