This Surah came down through the difficult times that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) went through when some people in Makkah claimed that Allah (SWT) is angry at Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). So, Allah (SWT) starts this Surah by swearing by the early morning (Ad-Duha) that He had never abandoned Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) nor was He angry with him. This was one of the tests the Prophet, peace be upon him, went through on his journey of faith in Allah. The main lesson here is that this world we live in is full of tests and that we should be aware of those tests and be prepared to deal with the hardships we face in this life. Also, Allah reminds us in this Surah that we were all lost and in a state of weakness and it was Allah who brought us out of that state. So we should not subdue ourselves to anyone other than Allah (SWT). We should always remind ourselves of Allah's blessings and how we should express gratitude to Him through our worship and to dedicate all our deeds to Allah (SWT).
