Prayer trains and refines our character. It makes us keen to maintain constant physical purity and cleanliness throughout the day and night. We stand up to have a dialogue with our Lord, leaving behind the vanities of this life to equip ourselves for the next. Then when we return to tending to this world, we employ our prayers to reach our goals in the next life as opposed to being completely immersed in the mud and muck of this life. We take advantage of what is good and wholesome in this life in order to energize us to continue to worship our Lord. We try to be careful not to revel excessively in this world's alluring facade, nor despair in distress when losing anything of it. (Excerpt from: Transformed by Worship - a MAS Publication)
