It's been a while. I've been gone for a long time. Gone but present. My heart is always here even though my mind has other things upon it. Allah has been kind and generous. As He always has. From the breath that I take each morning. To my good health and having food, clothes, and sustenance at home. He's answered my long-awaited Duaas. Optimistic that He has forgiven my sins. Praying that he will continue to guide me. It's been a while since I sat and pondered. Today was the day. I usually get these moments after having a productive day that consists of worship and good deeds. Plus it was a nice calm rainy day which helped me vibe even harder. Being guided by God is an honor, a gift, a mercy and a sign that Allah truly has love for you. Once you’ve been guided to believe in Allah is a sign that you are meant to prosper in this life of yours. As soon as you accept Allah and believe in him is when your life transforms. You want to learn about God more. Explore him. Want to know his essence ( i.e his names and attributes ). You want to love what He loves. Hates what He hates. Enjoy what He enjoys. Fight what He fights. Nurture what He nurtures. This is what having you heart guided feels like. It’s not merely just bodily worship and lip service. It’s Actions and words. A Beautiful thing about Islam that adds to this amazing gift is th
...My little desire to change my life around and the action that I put behind it, sincerely, 9 years ago, has lasted and been more effective & positive upon my life unlike anything else. I was seeking a guide and a path to something real that I knew from the bottom of my heart existed. Allah has given us a beautiful gift. The gift of the mind and heart. Like a computer has certain commands that you type and it will do. So does our hearts. I told my heart to seek change and Allah commanded it to seek guidance. I talked with God, sought him, desired him and was given the light of his guidance. Years later I learnt that God is al-Hādī, al-Rashīd - The Guide. Always guiding the guided as long as th

Zachary Shuter Ameen my beloved brother! I ask Allah to keep us firm and steadfast upon this way of life. I have also had many ups and downfalls. It’s the small things that helped me bounce back. A prayer here, a duaa here, read that Surah, attend a class. It’s the small things that Allah appreciates from us and gives us strength. Your Comment gave me strength as well brother. Because it’s brothers like you that give me strength also when we connect. Have a blessed Jummah Habibi.

It’s this verse and the next but I don’t know how to attach them together.
It’s only a matter of time that after we neglect, rush, and abandoned our prayers that we start to oppress ourselves. When our prayers are lost, our eman in lost. When eman is lost, taqwa is lost. When taqwa is lost, we become lost. Sometimes Allah lets us ride this roller coaster. To value, realize, and appreciate our faith when it’s healthy and then we’re able to recognize that which is the cause for its weakness. So we repent, become mindful in prayer. We turn back to Allah and amend our ways. We seek his assistance for steadfastness. This is the diamond getting pressed out of you. As you’re working to get that v
...Abu Dharr reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, 'Allah Almighty says: Whoever comes with a good deed will have the reward of ten like it and even more. Whoever comes with an evil deed will be recompensed for one evil deed like it or he will be forgiven. Whoever draws close to me by the length of a hand, I will draw close to him by the length of an arm. Whoever draws close to me the by length of an arm, I will draw close to him by the length of a fathom. Whoever comes to me walking, I will come to him running. Whoever meets me with enough sins to fill the earth, not associating any idols with me, I will meet him with as much forgiveness.'

...You Taught Me
Before I even knew you, I didn’t even care. I just accepted what they said & believed what they shared. This was while I was heedless in life, just very emotional & scared. It gotten to a point that it was the person in the mirror that I feared. As I was guided to change, I met you upon my path. I realized you were my solution to my worlds messed up math. They told me you were evil, but you used to cry and would laugh. You taught us to believe that 'Gods mercy prevails over his wrath'. As I sit here now and see how far I’ve came. You’ve attached me to God, as I now find peace within his name. You didn’t seek attention, nor followers, nor fame. You worked till the end of yo
...I’ve stood in the ring with fighters. Drenched in blood, sweat, tears. It’s my 'Get Away'. I love it, hate it. I was raised to fight. It was my only way to tell everyone and prove that I had something to stand for. Engaging in it before I was aware of God led me to humiliation. Once I became conscious of Allah and aware of my self it’s made me a Champion. Allah used this natural inclination within me to find him. It’s so weird but almost satisfying.
Despite my tough and merciless battles I’ve realized that there is no opponent that I’ve faced or suffered more against then my own self. I overcome it with God Consciousness. The only way to attain and train God consciousness is though patien

A man once came to al-Hasan al-Basri and complained to him that 'the sky does not shower us with rain' - He replied to the man 'Seek Allah's forgiveness'.
Then another person to him and said: 'I complain of poverty', Hasan al-Basri replied 'Seek Allah's forgiveness'.
Then another person came to him and complained, 'My wife is barren; she cannot bear children'.
Al-Hasan al-Basri yet again replied to this person 'Seek Allah's forgiveness'.
The people who were present asked al-Hasan: 'Every time a person came to you complaining, you instructed them to only seek Allah's forgiveness?'
He, Hasan al-Basri, replied, 'Have you not read the statement of Allah?'
'Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Tru

My Lord I fell, Once my determination becomes weak & my motivation starts to swell, It’s when I’ve oppressed myself 'I wish I didn’t do that..' too myself I began to tell, It’s time wake up Ya Abdullah and crawl up out of your shell, Wake up from your sleep man, Wash yourself from this spell. Yūsuf shackled his desires & was chained like a Lion within a cell, Even he didn’t give up on Allahs mercy, To give up on that can become a hell. Just think of all the hands Allah has given you without waiting cold & wet within a well. It’s Gods guidance within you that rings louder than a bell, Just keep ringing it Ya Abdullah, The doors of Jannah will open & within it you will dwell.

I’ve went to fajr on two different occasions to two different masjid’s. This chapter was recited in the first rakat of these last 2 times I attended. It stirred me in my soul. Allah was def making something clear to me.
Last night interestingly I read the reason why this verse and chapter was revealed. It happened after the expedition of Banu Al- Mustaliq. During this expedition the hypocrites came along with the believers because they realized how successful they were becoming from attaining spoils of war. This expedition ended with no fighting and a peace treaty was enacted with a neighboring tribe. The hypocrites furious that they didn’t attain any spoils decided to cause havoc amongst t
...Surah Al-Fatiha is not only the opening chapter of the Quran, the Mother of the Quran, Obligatory to recite in prayer of the Quran. It’s a clear communication between us and Allah.
We’re talking to Allah and Allah is responding (Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 395).
After praising Allah and his perfect attributes. We tell him something wholeheartedly. 'It is you (alone) we worship, and it is you (alone) who we ask for help'. We are telling Allah this, we are not asking him for this, but we are acknowledging that it’s only he who is worthy of this worship from us. We are telling him that we wholeheartedly trust in him, confide in him. We ask of him knowingly that he will respond to us

Me and one of my good brothers found time to sit in the masjid and recite Quran together.
I was in the mood to read surah al Ghafir since I read it earlier. I just wanted to hear him so I could better my tajweed and correct my mistakes. There’s so much to reflect upon this surah. It’s just breathtaking in meaning. But this verse made my voice crack and I felt my chest squeeze with emotion.
In life you can only mess up so many times before you get in trouble, fired, damage a relationship, and most likely once you lose that blessing. You’re simply not getting it back. I mean why should you? You’ve held it, experienced it, lived it, seen it, witnessed it, felt it, but you became stuck in
...How do you talk to Allah?
Did you even know that you can 'Talk' with Allah ?
The most direct and purest form of talking with Allah The most high according to the scholars is through the Quran al Kareem. When you read it, listen to it, reflect upon it, you’re in a clear communication with your Lord.
The talking that I’m going to speak about is a general type. Sometimes I try to tell my self that Allah is also my best friend. I try to laugh with Allah, cry with Allah, tell him my secrets, what’s bothering me. Should I do this, buy this, watch this, do this ?, I’ll be honest and say 'O Allah I’m bored' hoping he’ll help me find a positive entertainment. The thing is that I try to understand

Lately I’ve been making Duaa for a wife. This Duaa has evolved too as I myself have evolved. To become ready to accept and uphold a covenant between God, myself and my significant other.
Me and my mother went to a lake today and as we walked around this lake we took a break, so I prayed Dhuhur. As I finished guess what I made Duaa for ? Lol.
Right next to us was two tall, beautiful, healthy trees. Next to each other with the perfect distance in between, with the most enthralling lake in its view. These trees been there for years. Sharing this view and it’s breathtaking sunsets, sunrises, watching the ripples of the water as the wind touches the shallow lake by the shore. They looked hea

Bismillah-ir-Rahman-ir-Rahim
It’s with your name reality becomes seen.
Praise belongs to you beyond the heavens and our dreams.
Your mercy flawlessly flows even to the intangible within the unseen.
You’re a King amongst kings, our dominion will end, yours will gleam.
Since you’ve honored us in this world, we’ll praise your name till we scream.
Guide us, extend us your hand, make our feet solid like a beam.
The Quran is our rope, other paths always snap like a string!

...This is one of the most intense verses that every time I read I can’t help but *gulp*. Have you ever been pushed really hard? Like to the point that you’ve been pushed against a wall, locker, fell backwards on the ground ? I have. Sometimes I was the recipient and sometimes I was the doer. Imagine now standing on the brink of the pit of the Hell fire and as you’re observing it, knowing this is your final destination you turn around to find a Angel. No man, this angel isn’t here to save you. His face is stern, he’s not blinking, not even a slight smirk on his face. As you’re making eye contact he tells you straight up 'This is hell' and gives you that violent thrust as you fall
...It’s this feeling, followed by these words, followed by this action which brings about ruin to oneself. Verily our prophet has said 'Actions are but by intentions' this man felt like he was better then his friend, then uttered the words in his heart 'I’m better than you' then went about in pride and arrogance to display his achievements.
Aren’t these the same words that our enemy Iblis said to Allah concerning our father Adam? 'I’m better then him!' But just like how Allah aza wa jal humiliated Iblis till the end he also humiliated this man.
Allah interestingly mentions Iblis right after this story. And how he created him and the devils without them even knowing themselves. SubhanAllah.
As the Imam was in the Second Rakat of Maghrib today. The fire works started going off outside for the the celebration of the 4th of July. While the world outside it celebrating something fleeting Allah just reminded me something. No matter how much glitter and glow the world will show you and all of its jewels and beauty. Don’t let your heart harden like a rock from forgetting Allah. We think mountains are this large heep of solid rock. Heavy, rigid, un-linear but in reality this mountain is more softer than some peoples hearts because the Quran is here for us and we hear it, read it, listen but how has it affected our hearts. If it can humble the mountains.. can it humble my heart ?
Samman
SubhanAllah, this not only forces me to reflect on my own heart but also to think about the heart of whom the Qur’an was revealed to, our beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). Just thinking about the amount of humility he possessed is overwhelming. I think it’s also relevant to reflect on the strength of the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). Recently, I listened to a tafsir of surah Ash-Sharh by Sheikh Abu Bakr Zoud and he said one of the implications of the first ayah and what it meant for Allah swt to expand the chest of the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) was that He prepared him for revelation. In light of the Qur’an even a mountain would be torn apart, so imagine how strong the heart of RasulAllah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) was.

The Quran was sent for multiple reasons. One of it’s purpose is that it’s supposed to reach the very depths of our hearts and minds. To think, to ponder, to reflect. As I first started to read the Quran in the English translation after I accepted it I couldn’t help but travel with its verses. When Allah swt talked about the heavens and earth, when he talked about the mountains, the rainfall, the embryo within the fetus, the spread out earth, the vegetation. As you read this you’ll drift into its wonders and see them within your mind. After all of this subtle pondering and thinking you’re being reminded at the same time who it is that provided and sustains all of this in front of your eyes. T
...If one thing I remember in my past as I was beginning to transition into Islam is that I’d start to frequently ask God to guide me. I’d say things like 'Please guide me', 'Please guide me to you' .
Till this day I still can’t think what was the starting point of me being drawn into Islam? Maybe it was that prayer that I was saying. I remember during a bright sunny day I was in my backyard and the Adthan was being called. I pause as I write this because it’s bringing me flashbacks SubhanAllah.. but I became emotional as it was being called. I started to cry. And I remember my heart just felt safe. Like my pain and my worries was being comforted. And I just sat there and listened as I prayed

SubhanAllah. It's very true - Guidance to Islam is the biggest gift of all. It's a gift so big that the fear of being careless and losing it is terrifying, just like someone who posses some type of rare valuable diamond would be afraid of losing it. Knowing we live in a dangerous environment that tries to steal our eman away everyday, and knowing that we aren't always the best guardian and could very well become careless at some point in time is a scary feeling. May Allah never test us in our faith and let us all die in a state of Islam.
