A Description of Life in This World

"Yet when He has saved them, they transgress in the land, offending against all right." (Verse 23)

This is surprising: after being saved by God, people immediately transgress in the land.

This in itself is a whole scene, and we miss none of its totality and fine detail. Nor do we miss any feeling or reaction it induces. In essence, we are given a picture of a real event, but it is also a mental scene describing the nature of many people, regardless of the generation they were born into. Hence, the surah follows it with comments addressed to mankind throughout history.

"Mankind, it is against your own souls that your offences rebound." (Verse 23)

Wheth

Soul,

All our souls have met Allah before we came in to this world,

When we die the angel will pull out our souls, if we did well it will be easy to take out, and if we didn’t do well, our soul will be hard to get out.

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ Surah Yūnus doesn’t just speak at you—it speaks through you. It uncovers the dust we try to hide beneath our souls. It reflects our hearts back at us, cracked and confused. And what’s most terrifying… is how much it exposes us— Our cycles. Our arrogance. Our forgetfulness. Our excuses. And yet it speaks. Calmly. Clearly. Unapologetically. جَآءَتْهَا رِيحٌ عَاصِفٌ وَجَآءَهُمُ ٱلْمَوْجُ مِن كُلِّ مَكَانٍۢ وَظَنُّوٓا۟ أَنَّهُمْ أُحِيطَ بِهِمْ دَعَوُا۟ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ لَئِنْ أَنجَيْتَنَا مِنْ هَـٰذِهِ لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلشَّـٰكِرِينَ 'Suddenly, the ships are overcome by a gale wind and those on board are overwhelmed

Only if we are ALLAH CONSCIOUS , the precious pearls and corals that we collect during the journey will become useful. To reach and beautifully furnish the destination,Allah has enabled us with deep ocean and favourable wind to travel.We should take the opportunity of this journey to know our LORD.We should remember Allah when the condition is favourable as well as harsh.Only by knowing our LORD we can continue our journey in peace by trusting in him and seeking his help. Our ship should not drown by the weightage it carries throughout its journey.We should not get stuck by the beauty of the ocean and forget our purpose.We should not allow the water to enter the ship and destroy our beaut

(ayah 22-24: reflection from QURAN 30 F0R 30) The passage ends with a metaphor comparing this world to water. This metaphor is repeated in Surah al-Kahf (the Cave) and reminds us that this world is temporary, and only beneficial in moderate amounts. Just as not enough water leads to droughts and too much water leads to floods, both ignoring this world and obsessing over it lead to problems. Balance lies in moderation, prioritizing the afterlife without neglecting this world.
