Ever experienced an earthquake? A small jolt and almost everything around us changes. An extra second and the screams start- if this is the situation here, imagine for a moment what the final earthquake may be like.

'Read your record. You ˹alone˺ are sufficient this Day to take account of yourself!'
Each one of us in every moment is an author of our own book. Every motion, action, and intention is being written, journaled, recorded, and transcribed.
Imagine for a moment you are now at the scene, standing before Allah, about to receive your records, a book that will contain nano-precise logs more precisely recorded than your phone activity log. And now imagine this being given to you and presented before Allah,
Think back to the moments in which you and I fell short in observing Allah. Maybe it was neglecting our prayers or abusing someone, or a bad habit that we did not care to stop. How woul

From Recitation to Reflection
Nothing Is Lost
Isha Prayer · Surah Az-Zalzalah (99:1–8)
Last evening’s recitation began with the earth itself.

It shook.
It brought out what it had been carrying.
And then came a verse that stayed with me:
“That Day it will report its news.”
تُحَدِّثُ (tuḥaddithu), from the root ح-د-ث, carries the sense of telling or relating what happened.
The earth will have news to tell.
So much of what we do seems to simply pass.
A moment happens, a deed is done, and life moves on.
Eventually, even our own memory may let it fade.

﷽
The moment I put my forehead on the ground and whisper the words of praise for Allah SWT, I am entrusting the land to hold my words and be my witness on the day when it will tell the stories of everyone and everything living on its chest.
May these words be my safety shield on the day of great shaking. Ameen

Abu Hurayrah narrates: The Messenger of Allah (saws) said:
'The earth will discharge its hidden treasures like pillars of gold and silver. Then the murderer will come and say: ‘I murdered for this?!’ Then the one who cut ties will come and say: ‘I cut ties with my family for this?!’ Then the thief will come and say: ‘My hand was cut for this?!’ They will then leave it and not take anything from it.'
