In Surah Saad, prophet Sulaiman as makes this dua after a series of mistakes. 'He turned to us and prayed, ‘Lord forgive me. Grant me such power as no one after me will have - You are the Most Generous Provider.’' Saad, ayah 35 My point of reflect is on Allah swt's name - Al Wahhab, the bestower of gifts. And that our prayers to Allah swt should always reflect His ability to grant us anything. He is far more generous than any human being could ever be. So why do we aim so low in our prayers and aspirations if we say we truly believe He is Malik ul Mulk - (the owner of absolute sovereignty)? He wants us to constantly ask and aim high with certainty in order to glorify Him. We have to truly value what worship is. And despite our ongoing flaws and mistakes, sincere repentance and discipline is the door to His bounties. That everything material in this world, every gift, every skill, is a means and has the potential to become a tool for Allah swt. But, if it becomes a distraction from Him, if it's used in ways other than what it was intended for (because everything is created with a purpose), it will naturally become the object of worship and a great trial for us. We need to focus on correcting ourselves, disciplining our thoughts, words and actions, and sincerely asking for forgiveness. Then, when we're ready to ask Him, we do not limit our imagination, we do not hold back, we do not look from a lens of fear or uncertainty, we remove the boundaries we've created for ourselves. We have absolute certainty that He owns the Dominion and only He is the bestower. Perhaps this Ramadhan, we can reflect on our prayers and ask ourselves if what we ask for honestly reflects who He is and what He is capable of? He is the only one that forgives and continues to give again and again. Remember to practice gratitude for what He has already gifted us with and do not forget who He truly is.

Jazak Allah Khair for this beautiful reflection! A great reminder to ask Allah with certainty in His limitless generosity and to align our prayers with His greatness. May we use His gifts wisely and seek His mercy wholeheartedly. Keep reflecting and sharing!
