The part of the verse 28:14 - 'We gave him wisdom and knowledge. This is how We reward the good-doers.' requires a reader's attention, and that is that Allah is speaking in principle here that if we do good deeds that become part of our character and personality then Allah will enhance our knowledge and give us wisdom. The point to be noted here is that Allah is not saying that He does that with those only who are His chosen messengers/prophets; this is what He does with everyone. And I will go as far as saying that it can be any person, regardless of their faith, because it is not just that a Muslim can only do good deeds; it can be anyone, and Allah will reward them the same way.
