Things are constantly changing; the state of our hearts, days turn into nights, spring to summer - nothing is permanent or guaranteed. That is the nature of this ephemeral world.

Yet we cling to delicate and fleeting moments, be it possessions, people or situations; we get attached and root ourselves in the comfort of its sameness.

Our comfort zone is our safe space, whilst the absence of familiarity seems daunting and overwhelming.

Learn to sit with it, accept it and embrace the change. Regulate your emotions, turn to Allah, trust His wisdom and remain hopeful of His mercy. It’s simply a transition.

It is Allah teaching us our greatest lesson - detachment.

O my people, this worldly life is only [temporary] enjoyment, and indeed, the Hereafter - that is the home of [permanent] settlement. (40:39)
