It always amazes how descriptively accurate Allah's words are (as they should), after all, the Holy Qur'an should be our guide in this finite journey that we are in.

On many occasions, Allah mentions darkness and light in a single verse and in association with each other.

We tend to forget that darkness is actually the absence of light, darkness in and of itself does not exist, just as so, Allah describes in these Ayat how His message is meant to bring us out of darkness and into the light, but notice the Arabic word, ظلمات, which is plural; it indicates many; a collection of, Allah wants to lead us out from this darkness and into His one and only light, His guidance, notice the word نور here is single, because ultimately, there is only one light after those layers of darkness and that is: following Allah and His final message.

Very precious reflection. Darkness is absence of Light. Zulmaat is plural (All evils leading to darkness/absence of light) and Noor (Divine) is singular. How beautiful! May Allah bless you
