This passage always moves me. The mention of the Sidrat al-Muntaha, the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary, fills me with awe. It’s not just a tree — it’s the place where even the angels stop. A boundary beyond which none may pass… except the Prophet ﷺ, during the miraculous journey of Al-Isra wal Miraj. It makes me pause and reflect: amidst all the pain and chaos of this world, there exists a place so magnificent, so honoured, that Allah SWT Himself chose it as the setting for one of the most intimate moments between Him and His beloved messenger ﷺ. I like to think of it as the ultimate symbol of beauty, reward, and closeness to Allah SWT A reminder that beyond the trials of this life, there is a destination — a place of peace, love, and divine nearness — waiting for the believers. This ayah reminds me that Islam isn’t just about rules or rituals — it’s about a journey. A journey toward Allah SWT. And somewhere at the end of that journey is the Lote Tree. Alhamdulillah for a religion that keeps the connection of the soul to its creator. Far greater than this world.
