Often when I'm overwhelmed with dunyawi matters, I think about jannah - how this world is nothing compared to forever. Dip your fingers in the ocean and what water remains on your finger is this world and all of the water of the ocean is the next world!
As a child, my islamic teacher told me that after jannah, there is nothing. Nothing. It will be forever jannah.
This gave a deep sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. I didn't like to think about it.
But now, I look forward to it. Yes, death, qabr, day of qiyamah do scare me. But in jannah there will be rest. We will have everything we want to have. Things no eye has ever seen, food no tongue has ever tasted, sounds no ear has ever heard. But far more beautiful than that will be seeing the Face of Allah. We will have weekly meetings on jummah with Allah azza wa djala. The greatest pleasure will be to be able to behold Him!
My dua in dunya to Allah is that I want to behold the beloved Prophet sallalahu alaihie aleyhie wasallam in my dream. Amd my dua for akhirah is, that whenever I look up in jannah, I will be able to see Him ♡ subhana wa ta'ala.
Allahumma inni as alakul jannah. Allahumma inni as alakul jannah. Allahumma inni as alakul jannah. (ameen)
