مَتىَ‏ نَصْرُ اللَّهِ أَلَا إِنَّ نَصْرَ اللَّهِ قَرِيبٌ Matā nasrullahi alā inna nasrallāhi qarīb ‘When will Allah’s help come?’ Behold! Allah’s help is indeed near! (Surat al-Baqarah 2, Āyat 214)

Dear Muslimoon, We are living in a time of fear, anxiety, uncertainty and possibly loneliness and separation along with countless losses, this verse is a reminder of optimism and relief. Many should find solace in the fact that this is not the first time in history such circumstances has surrounded Us as a Community. Therefore this verse serves for all time, It was revealed when the Muslims were surrounded by the enemies and filled with fear during the battle of Khandaq. At a time when numerous tribes combined to attack the Muslims, a trench was dug around the vulnerable points of Madīna to prevent anyone from entering. The Muslims as described in this verse were so distraught and shaken that the Prophet sallal-lāhu ‘alayhi wa-ālihi wasallam and those that were with him turned to Allah subhānahu wata‘ālā and uttered the prayer in this verse: When will the Help of Allah come?…(Q 2:214). In the history of Black American we find that same old story , the transatlantic slave trade many Muslimoon were brought to these shores uncertain as to what the future would hold for centuries we saw Mr. Charlie getting fat off of all that free labor at the expense of a people who didn’t ask to come here they were without sanctuary and the question was ask when will the help of Allah come? This took 400 years and still counting we have never been reporated but the help of Allah is still near. We look at Palestine today 75 years and counting we and the world are witnessing a terrible genocide and is any body asking when will the help of Allah come? If so how are we asking? Is it casual , relaxed or feverished are we pleading with our Lord? Are we asking Allah knowing that His help is near? These questions are beyond politics and because they are they require a well cemented standard and commitment to stand up to whatever Allah put in front of us. That we know that no matter how long it takes Allah’s help is near!!!!!!

Jazakallahu khair Imam for sharing this. This verse is indeed a powerful reminder of Allah's help which should bring optimism and relief into our hearts. Our duas, patience, taqwa, and our trust in Allah are the tools we need to deal with this crisis and bring healing for the Palestinians and everyone else who are in grief. I've also written on this subject a little bit over here (in connection to another verse):
