Every day through the crumbling homes, Every day with all the toxic drones, Every day walking through dead animal bones, I, a Palestinian child, every single day, has feelings. Happiness, For the seeds newly planted, For the rain that has landed, For the blessings Allah has granted Gratefulness, For the wind blowing, For the children playing and laughing, For the air I am breathing Affection,  For the land that is my heart's direction,  For my parents, my soul's reflection,  For the memories, my mind's collection Sadness, For my heart painfully aching, For my soul shattering and breaking, For my fear trembling and shaking Anger, For all of my family being striped away For all of the tyrants that created decay For the ones that went astray Despair,  For the peace that's no longer there,  For the burden that's too heavy to bear, For the dreams lost in the air Al-Baqarah (2:286): 'Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear...'
