Prophet Nuh 'alayhissalam preached to his people for 950 years without giving up, day and night, even though his people rejected, mocked, and covered their ears to avoid hearing his message. In Surah Nuh, verse 5, Allah says: قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي دَعَوۡتُ قَوۡمِي لَيۡلࣰا وَنَهَارࣰا 'Nuh said: 'My Lord, indeed I have called my people night and day.'' [Surah Nuh 71:5] This verse tells us about Prophet Nuh's persistence in fulfilling his duty of dawah without tiring, despite the challenges he faced. Prophet Nuh is the perfect example of a preacher who continues his mission regardless of age or circumstances. Dawah is not something we do only when it's easy or when we have free time; it is a lifelong mission that requires great patience and sincerity. Let’s take a look at our lives today. The Prophet and his companions continued to perform dawah until they passed away. As a result of their efforts, we have received Islam today. But what about us? We often rest and postpone dawah. Many think that dawah is someone else's responsibility, especially for the young. The young are busy working, so they plan to focus on dawah and worship only when they are old. But in reality, when they become old, they end up being preoccupied with their children and grandchildren. There are also those who say, 'Let the young ones do it,' and abandon the duty of dawah, choosing to focus solely on family. In fact, it is the elders who should be guiding and supporting the younger generation in the path of dawah, just like the companions guided the next generation. We don’t see many elders actively engaged in dawah, do we? But when it comes to travel, many are willing to go anywhere, saying, 'I'm retired now and have some extra money.' We need to reflect: what if we used the same enthusiasm for traveling to engage in dawah? Prophet Nuh, despite being very old, never stopped doing dawah because for him, dawah was a great responsibility. Remember that dawah is not just for the young; it is for everyone, regardless of age. Prophet Nuh 'alayhissalam is an example for all of us—that dawah is a continuous effort, irrespective of time or age. We pray to Allah that He grants us the strength to remain steadfast on the path of dawah until we pass away. And if we are unable to do dawah like Prophet Nuh or the companions, let us not be obstacles to those who wish to engage in dawah. Instead, we should support them in any way we can—through our prayers, advice, or by being a good role model. May we all emulate the sincerity and perseverance of Prophet Nuh 'alayhissalam in dawah, and may Allah accept our efforts as acts of worship that are pleasing to Him.
