Allah (SWT) has given us one of the greatest blessings – our parents. Their sacrifices are beyond counting. As someone who grew up in a non-Muslim environment, I cherish how my parents still made sure we siblings had an Islamic understanding at home. Without them, we would have been lost. It is painful to see people disrespect their parents – and even more painful when it comes from their own kids. I cannot express the pain I feel when I see parents in tears; it feels like we have failed them as children. I ask Allah (SWT) to forgive everyone who disrespects their parents knowingly or unknowingly , soften their heart, and guide them back before it’s too late. Hurting parents is not just disobedience – it ruins both dunya and akhirah. Respecting parents is not only a duty, but also gratitude for the sleepless nights, the endless sacrifices, and the unconditional love they gave us. Truly, the toughest tests are sometimes within our own homes. Ya Allah, grant us the honour of making our parents proud, the ability to keep them happy, and the tawfiq to serve them with love until their last breath.
