Seeing, hearing, and intellect are all examples of the process of sensation and perception. Perception is the ability to interpret sensory information from our environment and form stimuli in our brains to create a cohesive understanding of the world around us.
It's a beautiful spring morning, you are outside in the nature, you hear the chirping of birds, feel the gentle warmth of the sun on your skin, and see the vibrant colours of blooming flowers. Your mind processes all these sensory inputs, weaving them into the experience of a perfect morning.
The tender smile of a baby, lighting up the moment his eyes meet his mother’s. The baby may not yet understand words, but he senses her love through her touch, her familiar scent, and her comforting voice. That smile is the baby’s way of perceiving the safety and affection its mother provides.
Whether it’s the beauty of nature or the bond between a mother and child, these experiences are blessings from Allah. Without Allah granting us the ability to hear, see, or feel, we wouldn’t be able to enjoy this moment. Each sensation and its interpretation are blessings we often overlook. Taking a step back to reflect on these simple gifts can fill our hearts with gratitude toward the Creator who has made such experiences possible.
