JUZ 23 '..YOU NEARLY RUINED ME..' Imagine the relief when an inhabitant of Jannah is shown his friend is Jahannam. Imagining how he could have been in The Fire alongside that friend. Inherent in this ayah is the powerful lesson on the influence of your environment and the influence of your friends. We emjoy and we are entertained by their meaningless and toxic company. This distracts us from knowing the real purpose of our lives on earth. Rasulullah SAW has warned us on the strong influence of the people we choose to be in our close circle. These companions will shape us; they will influence the way we think; and this will eventually determine our place on the Day of Judgement. He SAW said : 'A man follows the religion of his friend; so each one should consider home he makes his friend.' (HR Abu Dawud 4833 & Tirmidzi 2378) Allah SWT Gifts us with choices in our lives; to choose a path of The Faithful or the path of The Lost. Allah SWT Made this earth spacious and wide for us to move and make changes in our lives. Allah SWT Gifts us the ability to think; to differentiate the good from the bad. Let us honour all theseHIS SWT Gifts Let us make the correct choices in choosing our companions.
