A few days ago i was watching a video of Ustadh Nouman in which he was explaining a verse of the Qur’an. He said that when Allah has already declared that the Qur’an is a source of guidance and healing for us, then we should start looking at its verses from that perspective.
Now, in this verse, Allah says that He afflicted previous nations with hunger and hardship so that they would humble themselves before Him and cry out in desperation.
Following Ustadh’s advice, I took this lesson for myself: from now on, I will deal with every hardship in life with the mindset that Allah wants me to humble myself before Him, to bow down in submission. Allah wants me to come closer to Him. This is a golden chance for me.
Allah is giving me repeated opportunities to remain firm on His path — before my death.
But when a trial hits, and we get busy finding solutions, why is it that the Qur’an is the first thing to disappear from our daily life?
Patience is supposed to be shown at the first strike of calamity — then why do we lose hold of patience exactly at that moment?
If the Qur’an holds guidance and healing for us, then why is it that when we need that healing the most, we turn to every other option first?
It’s because Shaytan knows these are our golden chances — moments in which we could earn immense reward.
So he distracts us from them first.
Our eternal enemy makes us waste these priceless opportunities.
That’s why we need to prepare our minds beforehand — to be ready for his attacks — so we can turn to the real solution and not let go of those precious moments when closeness to Allah is most possible.
