How many times have we spoken, not to seek truth, but just to uphold our pride, ego, or to criticize someone else without even knowing the facts?
Freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom from accountability. You’re answerable for everything you say, and EVERYTHING you do to your Lord.
Even the companions of the Prophet ﷺ wouldn’t speak on matters they were unsure of. They would say:'Allah knows best.'
Then who are we to speak about that which we have no knowledge of?
This isn’t just about giving opinions on Islamic rulings, it applies to our daily lives too. When we accuse someone without verifying, when we pass on something we just 'heard,' or when we talk merely to win an argument ,we fall into what Allah warned against.
May Allah make us speak only what is truthful, correct, and beneficial. Aameen.
