Has there ever been a time where you were going about things as usual, and you suddenly realized there was a security camera recording you? Perhaps it was at store, a gym, driving along a road, a home security system, etc.

In a way, it's a blessing to live in a time and age where we can comprehend what it means to be watched and recorded. It must have been more difficult to understand the concept prior to the invention of recording devices.

﷽ Satan lured Adam and Eve into eating from the forbidden tree, and in that moment, their nakedness became apparent to them. This important event is detailed in the Qur'an. Satan whispered to them, making them aware of what had been concealed. He tempted them by saying that Allah did not forbid them from the tree except to prevent them from becoming angels or immortals. ) فوسوس لهما الشيطان ليبدي لهما Then Satan tempted them in order to expose what was hidden of their nakedness. He said, 'Your Lord has forbidden this tree to you only to prevent you from becoming angels or immortals.' O children of Adam! Do not let Satan deceive you as he tempted your parents out of Paradise and caused their cover to be removed in order to expose their nakedness. When Allah says, “O Children of Adam…”, there is something so gentle in it. He does not just command. He calls us by our origin. He reminds us where we come from. It feels like a loving warning from the One who created us and knows exactly what harms us.

In Surah Al-A‘raf (7:27), Allah warns us not to let Shaytan deceive us like he deceived our parents, Adam and Hawwa. And when I reflect on this, I realize something very deep: Shaytan did not begin with open rebellion. He did not say, “Disbelieve in Allah.” He began with something that looked small. Something attractive. Something that seemed harmless. He beautified disobedience.

And what was the consequence? Their garments were removed.

Temptations that attract you robustly are your biggest enemies. They wrapped themselves under the sheaths of amusement and pleasure and will make you feel like they are taking you to the places where you find nothing but contentment but that's a momentary satisfaction and will fade away in the near future. Shaytan brings these temptations to present sins as an act of enjoyment and he utilizes distraction to move people away from righteousness. But as long as you cling to the divine book of ALLAH (SWT) you will get ALLAH'S protection and shaytan will have no power over you.
