This ayah is so comforting. At times we are done wrong to or evil plots are made against us. It overwhelms us and if this emotion is not properly navigated, it takes over thinking and weakens us. This Ayah gives a reality check. It conforms that good and evil are not equal and also acknowledges the human nature that it does get dazzled by wrong. The way to deal with this situation and not to be a victim of it is to: 1. Be mindful of Allah. This makes us realize that the nothing happened without His will. He always has a greater scheme of plan in which no one is wronged, although temporarily we might not be able to tackle the situation. 2.To be a people of reason. This gives us a sound m

I am just amazed by how the Quran encourages us regarding the act of 'giving'. 🔹Giving is the road to 'ٱلْبِرَّ-righteousness'. 🔹 The reward of giving is multiplied. 🔹And best of all Allah will forgive our sins. We should all practice this deed. Because practicing an act makes it your habit. رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ '‏ مَا نَقَصَتْ صَدَقَةٌ مِنْ مَالٍ وَمَا زَادَ اللَّهُ عَبْدًا بِعَفْوٍ إِلاَّ عِزًّا وَمَا تَوَاضَعَ أَحَدٌ لِلَّهِ إِلاَّ رَفَعَهُ اللَّهُ ‏'‏ ‏.‏ 'Charity does not decrease wealth, no one forgives another but that Allah increases his honor, and no one humbles himself for the sake of Allah but that Allah raises his status.' The guilt of realising the evil we have done can sametime be overwhelming. One thing that a person should do, definitely, is repent. Like prophet Noah (as) told his people to repent and Allah will shower His blessing. The other act to do is to engage ourselves in good deeds. Ofcourse, there is reward for doing good but this ayah reminds us of something so unique. Good deeds will be an antidote to the poison of evil. In this life, people might keep reminding us of our evil. But this ayah fills us with hope and gives a practical approach to shed off the dirt of evil. In doing good, we can gain His 'mai'yah' - company. Surely Allah is with those who shun evil and who do good ˹deeds˺. (16:1

We can see how this Islamic method emphasises positivity rather than remaining in that negativity associated with the (necessary) state of regret and repentance.

Living in this world with our human weaknesses, we are impulsive in getting reward of the good we do. Sometimes we get the reward as expected but sometimes we think it hasn't been rewarded and to remove this thinking we should remind ourselves of this ayah. This is why believing in Al-ghaib is so important. It gives me firm belief that none of my good deeds went unnoticed.

Thank you, appreciated😊! Reading surah kahf this ayah always refills my energy to do good because it doesn't say 'al' Ahsan = the best. It's just good. What ever I am doing in my capacity means worthy to Him!

Day 13: 'Is the reward for goodness anything except goodness?' (5:60) We only have to do a bit of good in this world and through Allah's mercy, we have a mountain of good in store for us in the hereafter. Although that should be enough of an incentive for us, the good that we do even yields good for us in this world aswell. An upright, decent person instantly earns the respect and affection of those around them. Also, Allah has made us in such a way that doing good deeds, like giving to the needy, actually feels good whilst doing sins makes us feel awful, thus fascilitating the way to the ultimate good: Jannah. Internally and externally, in the dunya and the a

That's a great point about how doing good feels good and doing bad feels bad! This is for people of sound nature and pure heart, and having the compass the right way like this is a sign that you are still in the good pleasure of God.
