I know this ayat is about worldly distractions, and whilst that is something we desperately need to talk about, I'm going to talk about something a bit different.
Music. I struggle with this a lot. Opening Spotify in idle moments Nostalgic songs that bring emotion, a welcome distraction Songs that feel right, songs that touch the heart. Or maybe the ones behind reels, embedded into our minds I'm sure you would recognise them based on their sole sound or the name. But would we recognise the quran? In the same way? It's not just this, it's the fact that people are memorising the Quran, like me, and still being pulled into this fitnah

..."And never say of anything, “I will definitely do this tomorrow,” This generation has a habit of diagnosing themselves. Including me. Why do we procrastinate? why do we place added pressure on ourselves? blaming it on circumstance. why as Muslims do we delay prayer,making up fasts, and reading quran?? What are we compared to the sahaaba who use to compete and rush in goodness. Who are we? How can we call our selves " believers" when we delay our own worship that would only benefit us?? we ask allah to strengthen our iman, allow us to fall in love with our religion and open are hearts. ameen. ✨🌙
"Know that this worldly life is no more than play, amusement, luxury, mutual boasting," when someone says, " i just bought the YSL heels!" or " i just bought a ferrari!!" how do we feel? do we feel behind? unable to keep up with others worldly achievements How should we feel? as muslims?" we should say,"حسبنا الله ونعم الوكيل" god should be enough for us. and he will always be the best protector 🌙✨

Forgiveness. This world puts it simply as a "chance at redemption." something not guaranteed. forgiveness that can or cannot be granted. But what about as Muslims? What as individuals do we believe about forgiveness? Do we expect our tobah, half-hearted and half-sincere, to be accepted? We live and sin as frequently as we breathe. Yet our istighfar rolls off our tongue like coal. Is this really what we as Muslims should do? And forgive. Forgive how you would love Allah to forgive our seen and unseen mistakes. the ones we brush over our shoulder, scared to admit we did it. Forgive. because one day when all forgiveness will cease. ...And every soul should taste death... It's the inevitable we draw nearer to. not the "end" not a pause in a cycle of rebirth. It's a station, a stop. the womb, this life, the barzakh, the last day, the reckoning, and then the eternal life. This is verily just a place we must live, a test we must pass. And the marks are not free. We urge Allah to strengthen us and others and place the love of the deen and humility and perseverance in our hearts. Amen.
