Do you know how often I’m asked, 'Does God hate me?' because of test after test a person goes through? But even in those tests, do you have blessings? Every person has been given different gifts. Could you sit for 30 seconds and even write a list of people or places or experiences or possessions or aspects of health that He has blessed you with? Why don’t you see all of those blessings as signs of God’s *love* for you? Why do you think that a test or many tests mean God hates you when Prophet Abraham’s (p) own father sanctioned throwing him in the fire and Prophet Joseph (p) was thrown into a well by his brothers and Prophet Jonah (p) was swallowed by a whale and Prophet Muhammad’s (p) own people persecuted him? Would we ever say God hated them? God forbid! They were the most beloved to God. That doesn’t mean you should ever want to be tested; we pray for His mercy and ease always and His love in that. But life is going to have struggles. And yet even in those difficulties, He has given so many blessings upon blessings that we cannot even count them. 'Verily WITH hardship is ease.' It’s okay to be sad and frustrated and confused when you’re going through tests. But don’t look at that as a sign that God hates you. Reframe your perspective. He says, 'I am as my servant thinks I am.' Focus on the blessings He still showers upon you. Why can’t that be a sign of His love? Of His reminding you with every sunset you witness and every raindrop you feel that despite the vastness of the world and all who is in it, He sees *you* and He cares for you and He deeply, deeply loves you.
