I have read this ayah multiple times but today it hit me differently. I think one of the reasons why we are able to have multiple reflections on the same ayah, and are able to see it from multiple unique perspectives, is that when we are going through a specific situation in our life, it colors our view of that ayah in a unique way, and I think that is a beautiful miracle of the Quran. What I see in this ayah today is how Allah honored the human being, by giving him dignity and authority. One of the most painful things in this world is when we are stripped of dignity by people. Being mocked, belittled, shamed, not taken seriously, being invalidated is something that hurts in indescribable ways, and over time, you lose your sense of worth that Allah gave you, its a psychological thing. My mother always told me that the most important thing a human can receive in this world, is not love, but respect and dignity. I never understood her until now. There is no being in existence, more Authoritative and Powerful than Allah Azz wa Jall, and we humans to Him are nothing, powerless and weak. He can control us and force us to submit easily. Yet He gave us respect, dignity, free will and honor. Whether we live up to it or not is our choice. And then He makes easy for us whichever path we choose and strive towards. It is a reminder for us too, to maintain our own dignity, and give it to others as well. Especially when we are in a position of authority over someone, whether we are a parent, teacher, an elder, a boss, we all have a limited authority over someone. We should make sure we do not abuse that authority, sometimes under the false garb of 'teaching them a lesson for their own good'.

Ma shaa Allah Lahawla walaquwata illa billah such a beautiful practical reminder, jazakallah khair. It is only when our own honour is stripped/questioned, that we realise how painful this is, and why we should protect others honour. It is often those closest to us whose respect and honour and dignity is hardest for us to protect, as it is so easy to complain about our spouse or child.
