Ibrahim, 40: My Lord! Make me and those 'believers' of my descendants keep up prayer. Our Lord, accept my prayers. Children are gifts from Allah (S.W.T.) As Muslims, we are responsible for the well-being of our children physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. It is their right to grow up in a healthy and secure environment. The Prophet (SAW) mentioned in a hadith: 'Every one of you is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock.' There are many hadiths of Prophet (SAV) that tells us about the importance of taking care of our family. Besides providing proper nutrition and education for our children , praying for them is also part of our responsibility. As a mother of three (amanah) children , I always worry about their Islamic education . We can teach how to perform salah, how to be a righteous person or how to make ibadah or worship. Whereas, I believe that only teaching, explaining or showing how to do it are not enough. In addition to these, as a mother, we must pray for them. We must be 'The heroine of dua' for our children to become the coolness of eyes. If so, how should we make dua? What should be the strategy for it? In my opinion we don't need to search for new words, new sentences to make dua. We should make dua with Allah' s words. There are lots of verses of dua in Quran. They are easier, more inspiring and more focused on target. Ibrahim, 40 is an invaluable dua that we can make for our children. Our tongues must be accustomed to this dua. It is like a rescue boat that can keep our children be steadfast in prayers.
