‘Ubâdah b. as-Sâmit narrates: The Messenger of Allah (saws) took an oath from us just as he did from the women: to not associate anything as a partner with Allah; to not steal; to not fornicate; to not kill our children; and to not incite dissension among one another. [He said]: 'Whoever fulfills it among has his reward with Allah. Whoever among you commits a crime and is penalized for it, then it is his expiation, and whomever Allah conceals, then his matter is up to Allah; if He wills, He will punish him, and if He wills, he will forgive him.' [Authentic: Narrated by Muslim (1809:43)]
