If you're a psychology student, you always look behind the obvious and wonder how things work out. In this case, I also wondered how easily Musa (A.S.) became part of the family. What worked for him? Then this part grabbed my attention: فَلَمَّا جَآءَهٗ وَقَصَّ عَلَيۡهِ الۡقَصَصَ ۙ I thought that being vulnerable worked here, he shared what he was most afraid of, and somehow Hazrat Shuaib (A.S.) understood him. Once in my life, I needed this, so I went ahead and used this strategy, thinking that since it's mentioned in the Quran, it must work. But guess what? The door was shut again with even stronger force than before. I wondered what went wrong. I somehow, low-key, started questioning, you know what that means, right? Until this morning, I realized that I used it with people who were not in need, and showing my weak point didn't make them kind but rather more ruthless because of two things:

They were not weak, so showing my weakness didn't make me relatable to them, as it was in the case of Musa (A.S.), where both parties were weak at some point. They were not in need, which was the opposite of the story of Musa (A.S.), in which both were in need.

So being vulnerable in front of just anyone doesn't help. Always choose wisely who gets to see your weakest side and will never make you regret it. Not all people relate.

so i was looking at it from another angle, Musa AS made a dua before this and he asked Allah whatever good u send to me im in need, and then right away he was called to get his compensation, so somewhere at the back of his mind, Musa AS knew that this is what Allah has responded my dua with and he headed, another question which comes to my mind is, how and why did Musa AS feel free to share what happend back in egypt, i think he would have felt a sense of security which would have made him share.

ur reflection made me think about this, that a lesson we can also draw from the incident of Musa AS is when he left Egypt he made dua and then just trusted Allah, the moment he saw an oppurtunity to do good he did not pull himself back
