The verse from Surah At-Talaq (65:3) beautifully teaches us about trusting Allah’s plan and understanding that life operates under a divine process. Everything in life has a process. A sequence of determined steps is to be followed to achieve a specific outcome. This is how things work. Whether it's a seed transforming into a tree or coal enduring immense pressure to become a diamond, nothing happens overnight. We can't sow a seed at night and in the morning wish for a tree. We can't get demotivated when it's still not a tree in the morning. Although the time has passed, as I said, a set process has to be followed. A fixed time, patience during the process, and persistence are required. It wouldn't grow when we want it to, but when it has to, when the set process is complete. People often say, 'Trust the process.' Trusting is directly linked to willpower, as it requires conscious decision-making and inner strength. When it comes to things we understand, like studies, careers, or relationships, or even mundane things like making 'tea,' we tend to trust the process. We work hard and wait, knowing that the results will eventually follow. Then why do we stumble, hesitate, or grow reluctant when it comes to trusting Allah, the Lord of all worlds? Why is it so difficult to place our faith in His divine plan? Allah Himself reminds us in this verse to trust Him. He promises that if we rely on Him, He will be sufficient for us. He has a plan for everything, and every process has been decreed with precision. The hardships we face are not random; they are part of our unique journey, tailored by Allah to shape us into something extraordinary, like coal enduring pressure to become a diamond. These hardships wouldn't pull us to the extent that we couldn't handle. Instead he said, that he doesn't burden a soul beyond what it can endure. It's us who are having trust issues. Yes, the process can be painful. It requires patience, perseverance, and unwavering trust. But Allah assures us that these hardships will never exceed what we can bear. He does not burden a soul beyond its capacity. This means that every trial we face is within our ability to endure, even if it feels overwhelming at times. The strength to overcome is already within us. Often, our struggles with faith stem from trust issues, not with Allah, but within ourselves. We question, doubt, and hesitate because we fail to see the bigger picture. But tawakkul (trust in Allah) and miracles go hand in hand. Love and trust go hand in hand. How can we claim to love Allah if we are reluctant to trust Him? How can we expect miracles if we don’t have faith in His plan? Allah loves us deeply, and the challenges we face are part of a process uniquely designed for each of us to be the diamond we are meant to be. These trials are not meant to break us but to build us, to strengthen us, purify us, and prepare us for what lies ahead. The verse reminds us to embrace this process, to endure patiently, and to trust wholeheartedly. When we accept that Allah’s plan is perfect, we unlock the resilience and willpower within us. We begin to understand that every difficulty carries a lesson, every setback is a stepping stone, and every hardship is a path to something greater. This realization empowers us to face life’s challenges with confidence, knowing that Allah is always sufficient for us. So, let’s trust the process willingly. Let’s trust Allah. For His wisdom is infinite, His mercy is boundless, and His love for us is beyond measure.
