Youtube used to allow streaming without any unwanted adverts once upon a time. Those were the good old days. You could listen to an entire surah without being ambushed with an advert about shampoo or a holiday package. Now, you have to sign up to the premium version to get an advert-free experience. As I returned back from Jummah last Friday, I played one of my favourite reciters -Shaykh Abdul Basit on Youtube. The powerful and moving recitation of Shaykh Abdul Basit (Rahimhullah) recorded in  the 1950's was interrupted by unrelated marketing adverts, spoiling the experience. Annoyed by this, I remember saying under my breath, 'Ya rabb I wish these adverts did not ruin the experience of listening to your words!'  The next day, I receive a message from my brother-In-law. The message contained a link, an invitation to join a family group on Youtube. Unsure what this was about, I called him and asked him what the nature of this invitation was. He said to me that he had been attempting to listen to the Quran on Friday and his experience of listening to the Qur'an was interrupted by adverts. He said he signed up to an advert free version and thought It would benefit me too! SubhanAllah! How Merciful is our Lord?! How Subtle is our Creator, who knows what goes on in the hearts and minds of His creation. Not for once did I share my concern with anyone, and all it took was a small complaint to Allah for a solution to arrive the next day! How undeserving as a servant I am, and how Merciful is our Creator.  All it takes is a dua, for Allah to bring ease to our situations. Whatever challenges you face in attempting  to engage with His book, all you have to do is to reach out to Him and He WILL respond. Reserve your complaints to Him alone, and Allah will respond to you in ways beyond your imagination.

to reflect, reflect to remember!

Indeed, We see you ˹O Prophet˺ turning your face towards heaven. Now We will make you turn towards a direction ˹of prayer˺ that will please you. (2:144)

Sometimes we don't even know were making dua - but It gets answered out of his mercy

Beautiful reflection Sheikh Hammad!
