A point of reflection from this story is that often we start a task with the right intention, with the correct purpose, in obedience to Allah. We are very passionate and determined to complete it. Our intention starts of as doing whatever we are doing for the sake of Allah with complete ikhlaas. But as time goes by, we lose ourselves in the mission so much that we forget the true purpose, it gets lost. We do not do this intentionally but it happens. I often feel this happens with me. I got married for the right reasons, I had a child for the right reasons, or I built my career for the right reasons. The reasons were noble, they were to seek the pleasure and rewards from Allah. But where along the way did the intention get lost? In the ups and downs of life, in the highs and the lows, what you started off for gets forgotten very often. It is so important to recentre ourselves, reground, and remind why we are doing what we are doing. We might be waiting desperately for something, which was the pleasure of Allah, and we keep waiting for the 'right' circumstance when in fact maybe it can be gained right where you are right now. Do not miss it! But another big relief is that even if you do miss it, even if you do forget alhumdulillah there is always a chance to retrace your steps and go back to where your purpose lies.

Beautiful reminder, Ma shaa Allah. Let's try to maintain our focus on 'the salted fish', the intention and purpose of our journey.
