Yesterday, during a beautiful session about Salah, one verse stopped me and stayed with me long after the session ended: "رَّبَّنَا لِيُقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ" "Our Lord, so that they may establish prayer." (Surah Ibrahim, 14:37) This is part of the famous Duaa of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) after he left his wife Hajar and his infant son Ismail in a barren desert without water, food, people, wealth, or any visible means of support. Imagine that moment. A father leaving his beloved family in the middle of nowhere. Yet among all the concerns that could have occupied his heart, one concern stood above the rest: Salah. It is as if Prophet Ibrahim knew that when Salah is established, everything else begins to fall into place. This is how our great scholars understood Salah. It is attributed from Imam Al-Hasan Al-Basri that he beautifully said: "As much as you fix your Salah, your life will be fixed.". "My Lord! Make me and those ˹believers˺ of my descendants keep up prayer. Our Lord! Accept my prayers." O Allah, make Salah the delight of our children's hearts. Make them love it, cherish it, and turn to You through it with sincerity and joy. O Allah, help them establish Salah consistently and beautifully. Let it be a source of guidance, strength, discipline, wisdom, and barakah in every part of their lives. O Allah, as Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) prayed, "Our Lord, so that they may establish prayer," make our children among those who establish Salah faithfully, remain steadfast upon it, and find closeness to You through it. O Allah, raise them to be leaders of goodness, people of strong character and noble conduct, beneficial to their communities and a source of pride for their families and this Ummah. Ameen.
