In this section Ibrahim AS invokes a prayer that believers have been repeating and will repeat until the end of times iA. We can learn many lessons from this dua. We are taught how to setup a dua with praising Allah and glorifying his greatness and then to thank Allah for his blessing. Then we hear the rest of the dua of Ibrahim asking Allah to make him and his progeny people who establish prayer and he asks Allah for forgiveness for himself, his parents and for all Muslims. We are taught that in making a dua to start with one self. We are also taught there is no limit to what we can include every Muslim in our prayers. We are also taught that forgiveness should be goal for the believer and

In this age of social media, self-centeredness, and the normalization of seeking praise for any minor actions of good done, this surah reminds us how Allah SWT expects us to behave. After the Prophet PBUH was persecuted, exiled from his hometown, and lost many love ones in his journey back to Makkah. He finally enters Makkah and the leaders of the town surrender without a fight. In that moment, the typical modern reaction would be to celebrate and even ridicule your former oppressors. But here Allah SWT teaches us and reminds us the proper way of reacting to any good, which is to turn back to Him, thank Him, glorify Him and seek refuge in Him. This helps us stay grounded, humbled, and preven

Who were the leaders of the town that surrendered in this verse ? Nonetheless, wonderful reflection. Very true that these days people expect praise for the smallest of actions. We should learn from the prophet PBUH on how to handle our successes. Rather than expecting praise from the masses we should focus our attention to God and thank Him for our success because without him we would not have succeeded. And the emphasis on how in today's age ridiculing those whom we are against has become all too common we should learn from the prophet on how to handle those who we are against or are against us. Ridiculing is not the answer.

We are taught from both athar and hadith that ayat al kursi holds many treasures for us. It is the greatest ayah in the Quran, it provides us - through the will of Allah - protection from all evils when recited in morning and evening, and the Prophet PBUH also has mentioned reciting this ayah after every prayer the only thing between the believer and Jannah is death. The simple action of reciting this ayah with true belief in Allah SWT holds all these treasures. This ayah holds this type of ‘power’ due to the meaning behind, which is focused on the oneness of Allah SWT and His greatness. Understanding the true meaning of the oneness of Allah SWT, and understanding His many great attributes i

In this ayah Allah SWT reminds us that He is aware of us as an individual human beings and He is aware of our unique abilities and limitations. Any situation we are in, where it good or bad, Allah SWT ensures we are capable of handling it. The beginning of this ayah is a places us at ease throughout our difficulties and reminds us to have tawakul (trust) in Allah SWT. The reminder of the ayah is a prayer taught to us by Allah SWT that clearly defines our hopelessness as beings that tend to forget and commit sins, and emphasizes our need and reliance to put all of our trust in Allah SWT.

This surah is a beautiful melody with an even more beautiful message. The focus of the surah is a method by which we, as believers, should approach our negative feelings and emotions and is a great reminder in these trying times. Allah SWT starts with a promise and hope of a new day and the tranquility and peace of a quiet night, to remind us all there is always hope in the future regardless of how bleak the past appears. For Allah SWT has will never forsaken us and will never hate us, for He has more love for his servants than any mother’s love for her child. As Muslims we are taught by our Prophet PBUH to be optimistic, specifically when it comes to our thoughts about Allah SWT. However,

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم In the two ayahs before this ayah (numbers 68 and 69), Allah SWT describes the major sins a true servants of Allah avoids. These sins appear to be mentioned in order from the worst of the worst major sins to the less-worst major sins (if they can even be placed on a gradient). After all, any major sin is avoided by the true servants of Allah SWT as mentioned in these ayat. The major sins that are mentioned are: invoking a deity with Allah SWT, followed by taking of a human life, and lastly committing adultery. Allah SWT then describes and warns of the severe, despicable and vile torment for such acts that would go on for eternity. Allah SWT then declares the punishme
