This morning, I was listening to these āyāt, and they touched my heart in a way I can hardly describe.

As I listened, I found myself imagining that sacred moment when Allah ﷻ spoke to Mūsā (عليه السلام)—a conversation so intimate, so personal, between the Lord of the worlds and His chosen servant. It felt like witnessing one of the most private moments in existence. Ye

There are countless incidents that occur every day where a person's clear and firm "No" is not accepted as an answer. Society often frames this issue as something associated with men who cannot handle rejection, but in reality, anyone who is driven by a sense of entitlement or power can struggle to accept being told "No."

Many people choose compliance out of fear of those in authority or influence. However, some individuals refuse to go along with what is wrong, no matter the pressure. If a decision displeases their Lord or goes against their principles, they will not say "yes" simply to satisfy someone else's ego.

At the heart of this issue is the inability to accept rejection. When peopl

If you're a psychology student, you always look behind the obvious and wonder how things work out. In this case, I also wondered how easily Musa (A.S.) became part of the family. What worked for him? Then this part grabbed my attention: I thought that being vulnerable worked here, he shared what he was most afraid of, and somehow Hazrat Shuaib (A.S.) understood him. Once in my life, I needed this, so I went ahead and used this strategy, thinking that since it's mentioned in the Quran, it must work. But guess what? The door was shut again w

Sometimes people do the worst things. They act unethically, make deliberately hurtful comments, or cause harm. And the natural human tendency is that when someone treats us badly, we start backing away from them and avoid helping them.

But those who continue to help despite receiving bad treatment or hurtful reactions are the true servants of Allah. That is the peak form of عبودية (servitude), because in the ayah, the introduction of Khidr عليه السلام was:

The story of Musa عليه السلام and Khidr عليه السلام shows that although both were chosen people of Allah, Musa عليه السلام still we

While I was reciting, this ayah truly mesmerized me. I kept thinking about how Prophet Nuh (A.S.) confronted his people with truth and patience.

It made me reflect on myself. I am honestly terrible at confrontation. Not because I do not know what to say, but because whenever I do confront someone, it becomes overwhelming and everything crashes down. That is why I always try my best to avoid confrontation. I only do it when matters go completely out of hand.

But even then, after confronting someone, I often cry for days. The guilt eats me from inside because I feel like I hurt the other person. Still, sometimes confrontation becomes necessary. Many people try to avoid it, and we often see o

While reading the ayat before this ayah, I was wondering: the Jews became so corrupt, yet they were blessed with so many things. But why? I mean, Allah knows everything, so why did He not deprive them of those blessings?

Then this ayah came, especially this part:

They faced many hardships, and despite that, they remained patient.

Then I realized that the reward of patience never goes to waste. However, after receiving the reward, the behavior and attitude we show determine whether those blessings will remain or not.

As Allah subhanahu wa ta‘ala said:

"Shepherds vs Musa (a.s.)"

Why did Allah not choose someone from that crowd and instead choose Musa (a.s.)? If we reflect on that specific scene, a beautiful answer unfolds.

One amazing quality of Musa (a.s.) was that he was a very keen observer. People often say, “Don’t look around, and if it’s the opposite gender, run as far as possible.” But we don’t see that mentality here. Instead, Musa (a.s.) noticed them, observed their situation, and then approached them. The real difference between ordinary people and those who are chosen by Allah is that the chosen ones do not remain confined to their own needs. The shepherds were busy with their own work, but Musa (a.s.) looked beyond himself. H

At first glance, the command appears simple—almost like a direct instruction: do this. Is it plausible? Many might say yes. Yet in reality, it is not as simple as it appears. The real question is not what is being commanded, but how the human mind is trained to obey it.

These are exam days. Most of us go to sleep at 2 or even 3 a.m. Is anyone forcing us to stay awake? No. We do it consciously. Why? Because the benefit is clear and immediate. We know that sacrificing sleep now will help us succeed later, so we willingly push ourselves.

But notice something important here: when we stay awake to study, we are already going against what the body and society consider “normal.” People around us

While reading Surah Al-Jinn, I noticed something deeply thought-provoking about its structure. Instead of first describing how the jinn used to live and then mentioning their change, the surah begins by highlighting their altered behavior. This is interesting, because ordinarily, people narrate transformation in a linear way—first who they were, then what they have become.

But here, the sequence is different. The acceptance of da‘wah comes first. Their realization, humility, and submission are mentioned before their past misguidance. It is as if the Qur’an wants our attention to be drawn first to the impact of truth, not the history of error.

There is a beautiful balance in this arrangem

Have you ever felt hesitant to share what is bothering you? That quiet fear that if you speak, you might be humiliated?

We all experience this, don’t we? Sharing our vulnerable side often feels like a threat. Why? Because we fear it may damage our identity.

A person struggling in their personal life… A father tested with a difficult child… A child born to a father who is willing to throw him into the fire…

We think these realities define us—and not in a good way.

But here’s the truth: these very trials are what shape who we become.

How did Ibrahim عليه السلام become Ibrahim? Today, the entire world knows what his father did to him.

-Part 4 How Do We Get Attached? Have you ever truly paused to think about this question?

Attachment is something we all experience, yet we rarely reflect on how it develops. Before sharing my own perspective—which some of you might find convincing and others might even label as selfish—let’s first look at attachment in its most common forms.

Think about the different types of attachment we see around us:

A parent’s attachment to their child

Attachment between spouses

Attachment among loved ones

Attachment between friends

If you feel I’ve missed any, you’re welcome to add to the list.

Now ask yourself: what is common in all of these relationships? Why does a mother

— Part 3

How do we detach ourselves? Before I begin, I want to clarify that this series does not follow a conventional sequence—where everything is explained step by step and conclusions come at the end. You may notice conclusions appearing before the foundations. Please bear with me.🙏🏼

What does detachment mean?Does detachment mean becoming rude to another person? Does it mean forgetting our manners or cutting people off harshly? Or does it mean something else entirely?Detachment happens primarily at an emotional level. It begins at the point where we once believed, consciously or unconsciously, “I own this. It belongs to me.” And then, gradually—or sometimes suddenly—

Part2 Before we explore how to detach, and what attachment and detachment truly mean, let us first reflect on one of the closest and most painful examples from the life of a Companion who lived this trial in its deepest form. On one side were his unwavering values, and on the other, a relationship he could not simply let go of. As I write this reflection, I find myself overwhelmed with emotion—because the pain he endured was immense. And I wonder: do we ever truly pause to think about him?

We often mention him casually as the son of Abdullah ibn Ubayy—the leader of the hypocrites. But why do we always attach his identity to his father’s name and actions? Was it a crime to

Part1 Does our Deen encourage detachment?

That is the question around which today’s reflection revolves.

In life, there come moments when we are forced to choose either people or our values. And if we choose people at the cost of losing our values, we don’t just lose direction; we lose ourselves. In the end, we become someone we never wanted to be.

In today’s world, the concept of detachment has become phenomenally viral. And when something becomes overly viral, it often gets misunderstood and misused. The same has happened with detachment. This generation stands confused: Should we detach, or should we stay? On one side, we are constantly told to be there for people, t
